well, i mostly have no problem with xorg and this pc.
but after testing the config i get a 'dc stack underflow'
i ty witin puppy with xvesa to change the config file.
where the horizont freq is 31.5- and strangely nothing what has to be 48.5
vert is 40-70
so i make the change, save it go to terminal ant tipe xorg and it won't work.
and thats a shame because it looks o good, even in vesa mode.

Ive just installed teenpup on a P2 300 192mb laptop with no problems at all. Two 12 year olds upstairs using it now. Ill let you know how they get on. they do prefer amsn than gaim. Having all the plugins so all their websites work is great. Ill give more feedback as time goes on. I would like an option to hide everything but games, music stuff, paint stuff chat clients and a browser.
puppy linux and the teenpup derivative are exactly what I had been looking for. I tried a few other distos and had problems with them all. when I originally booted puppy I had only 64mb or RAM and was blown away when the live CD just worked.

Hello ollybee,
give kopete (kde's chat) a go, it allows for example msn and yahoo to be displayed at the same time, which is helpful if you are chating on both, saving having to click between msn and yahoo.
If you have trouble with your menu, please follow the advice above in this post.
I am trying to find a fix for it.

menus
John, here is where the updating of menus is discussed:

(no easy way there, I guess.)

teenpup 2.0
just thought i'd post a comment about teenpup 2.0 and georges P2 4oo mhz machines. I'm running a getway P2 400mhz with 450megs ram (minus the the kernal). I'm also running a swap file which is being used. Teenpup 2.0 is the smoothest running i have ever seen. please forgive any misspell'ns , got a case of thumbs don't cha know ! hope this helps some
One thing about Teen Puppy is when you select Xvesa,
the screen goes back to the prompt.
Personally I always use Xvesa...so this is a real nuisance,
especially if you are a Newbie.
One thing I could not find was the Internet Phone.
Is it still there or not?
I only gave it a Teenpup a quick look over so I may have missed it.
Regards ...Chris

hello cthisbear,
Sorry about xvesa and sorry but i didn't include the internet phone in TEENpup2.0.0
The xvesa problem may relate to the use of the KDE 3.5.4 base that the KDE Apps run off.
I have a feeling TEENpup2.0.0 will work on less older PC's than TEENpup1.0.0 I guess time will tell.

About Office Apps, Gxine and XSoldier
Office applications (AbiWord, Gnumeric, QCad) seems to be working fine.
My son was playing around with teenpup. He tried to play his favorite mp3s using Gxine but it gave an error when it tried to open files and\or using the playlist.
My screen at home is a 14-inch monitor. I set it up to 800x600, 16bit resolution. When my son tried to play XSoldier, only the upper half appears. Is there a way to reconfigure the resolution/screen size of the game?

Hello metre9dmt,
TEENpup is for me a way to learn how Linux works, It's not perfect .
I didn't designed TEENpup2.0.0 to work at 600x800. If I find a fix for xsoldier I'll let you know. I will look into why gxine isn't playing MP3's and let you know if I find an answer.

I can't move around an mp3 in XMMS using the slider or hotkeys. I keep getting an error.
**UPDATE**
I'm using XMMS on my desktop without a problem. I'm having trouble with my Toshiba Satellite 4025 still though. I'm going to try and delete my save file and re-create it to see if that works.
No matter where I try to seek to. Anyone else getting this?failed to seek to: -2147483648

TEENpup CLOCK
Hi John,
I'm still well pleased with TEENpup - BUT whenever I look at the clock I quickly shutdown & rush off to dinner, only to be disappointed because I'm 90 mins TOO early
I've checked the system clock & that's ok; so why 90Mins into the future?
Is this some ploy to stop me finding-out for 90 mins that its CRASHED

Hello puppyjim,
I haven't tried to work that one out as I find it easy to go to the menu and change it to the right time. Also as I mainly use TEENpup installed on my HD it hasn't been a problem.
I think I read somewhere else on the forum a while ago of the the same thing happening to some other Puppy versions using ICEWM
If someone found the fix please post the fix.

Menu fonts
Hi JB: I just downloaded & burned TEENpup 2.0.0 and like it very much! While I'm no longer a teen I consider myself 'young at heart'.
Unfortunately these tired old eyes can scarcely see the start menu fonts in IceWM @ 1024 x 768 resolution. Is there a way to increase them by editing a menu config file? I searched for icewm-menu.config files but gave up when a *menu search returned 412 + 6 hidden files! Can you give me a hint? The JWM menu fonts are fine, btw. TIA

Hello macadavy,
To change the menu Font sizes in Icewm, you need to do the following to every theme you use.
If there's a simplier way please let us know.
OK open ROX and unhide the hidden folders in "root"
Find ".icewm" and open the "themes" folder.
Now open the theme you want to change the menu font sizes on.
Now with Geany open the file called "default theme"
Now you need to play detective and find a line containing something like this.
TitleFontNameXft = tahoma:size=9:bold
MenuFontNameXft = tahoma:size=9
What you need to do is make the sizes bigger until you find something you like, just remember to save each time you make a change.
You may need to restart Icewm or change to anothr theme and then back again to see any changes.
Also make a backup of the themes folder before you start.
I hope this helps
