Installed Puppy, have English + Russian on desktop?

#1 Post by eddieb »

Hi, Just installed Puppy to a hard drive and somehow I've got a mixture of English and Russian. Can anyone point me in the right direction.
Cheers,

you can set the language Rox uses (Rox is generating the desktop) ... right click a desktop icon and click ROX-Filer, Options ... you could look and see whether you have it set to use Russian translations

what do you get if you type in an rxvt console:

set | grep -i lang

Hi, MTFYR. I clicked onRox and it is set to English. All the Desktop icons are in English.
If I click on "MENU" the bottom and third to bottom line is in Russian.
If I right click on the Task bar the popup menu is all in Russsian.
Console shows : LANG=uk UA

if your LANG variable is set to UA, that would explain why you get Russian ... on my machine, LANG=en_US ... you would need to run the Chooselocale wizard in the menu
