Toshiba Portege 4010 - xorg - 2.17

#1 Post by tony »

It seems that /usr/X11R7/bin/xwin has changed again.

Under earlier versions commenting out profile testing and replacing /etc/X11/xorg.conf was enough to get xorg working.

If any Toshiba user has a fix I would appreciate hearing from you.

If any Toshiba users have not suceeded in getting going on puppy please reply also as this is an ongoing problem that could do with a permanent solution.

hi

on earlier puppy versions xwin had to be commented out from line 260, on 217 this has moved up to line 133.

hope this helps

Hi Cherrypuppy,

Thanks for the Info.

It's taken me a bit further forward. It would help if 2.17 could see my usb floppy drive but I will get there.

Regards Tony.

I created a new thread with similar problems for PuppyLinux v3.00 at:

"3.00 Frugal Install from-and-to HDD -- Xorg Probing Trouble"
Subject description: Install process into laptop freeze at Xorg probing stage. Previous fix suggestions didn't work out.
