Looks good, WhoDo. I have it going in 2.17-1, full normal hdd install.
Is there any convenient way to place freememapplet on the taskbar?

Yep. Edit the startup file from the quicklaunch menu and uncomment the line pointing to "freememapplet-tray" which is located in /root/my-applications.Sit Heel Speak wrote:Is there any convenient way to place freememapplet on the taskbar?

Petget bad space calculation
See this topic. The hack works for me, maybe I should try to create a more elegant solution some time.

Question to the cognoscenti: is not the subdir /tmp in fact a ramdisk, and, since so, would it not solve moebigsley's problem to simply copy the EZpup .pet to /tmp and unpack it from there--especially if he has a swap partition?
***EDITED it turns out that, as of 2.17-1, /tmp is *not* a ramdisk, so this wouldn't work.
This may change in a future version of Puppy...

Re: EZpup-2.1.7r2
Yep, mine does that now too. Don't know why because the settings haven't been changed. I have resorted to replacingmattst8ler wrote:3. The Blinky taskbar icon retains a white background instead of one that matches the taskbar itself.
Code: Select all
-bg ""
Code: Select all
-bg "#389389"
I've been workin with this for a while now and cannot find an entry for -bg in /root/.icewm/preferences file. Any other possibilities for changing the background color of blinky to match the taskbar?
aïïïïï i wanted to try to change my cursor, result: my desktop has disappear! only the tray is left, and i can't get my desktop back !!
(not a big problem for me, i remastered Puppy not long ago, i'll just delete my current pupsave)
anyway i'd like to mention something: i'm scared at how people use graphical items from Windows(R); show some respect !
surprise to see blinky INSIDE the tray!! that is step 1 of 3; let's hope in the next version we can have freememapplet and mini-volume !
cheers
EDIT: thank you Wolf Pup for your tip for fixing the desktop, i didn't read this thread entirely.
freememapplet appears now in my tray after i uncommented the 2 lines in the startup file...
now what to do for having mini-volume in the tray too?

i'm experiencing another bug after installing EZPup: the little curved white arrow at the right-top corner of icons, that shows that it's a symlink, doesn't appear, instead there is an ugly red cross...

for me it works but a little bit too late: i get an error saying no pinboard was in use, that the default has been set, and after that my desktop loads with your lineWolf Pup wrote:EZpup-2.1.7R2 doesn't work with 2.16, just a blank desktop appears, and theres no wallpaper on background.
EDIT:
EZpup works now by addingto /usr/sbin/delayedrunCode: Select all
rox -p=/root/Choices/ROX-Filer/PuppyPin
so where to put it 'earlier' in the startup process?
since i installed EZpup, icewm startup doesn't execute
i tried to put:
at the end of .xinitrc, but it doesn't help
--
other question- it's simple i'm sure but..
how to delete a folder that contains files in it ? -with the command line
i tried to put:
Code: Select all
. /root/.icewm/startup

exit to the command line (ctrl+alt+backspace)
then type xwin starticewm and hit enter
that should start icewm correctly but maybe you already know that
you can also start icewm without the extra stuff by typing xwin icewm

Ezpup 2.1.7R2
I downloaded ezpup and it seems to work great.Kudos to the writer.
My question is when it installed it said it was missing libxmms.so.0 and
libesd.so.0
Have downloaded them both and now need to know where to put them.?

starticewm is actually this:cb88 wrote:exit to the command line (ctrl+alt+backspace)

exec icewm
Re: Ezpup 2.1.7R2
These libraries are flagged as dependencies by PETget, but are NOT required unless you want to run wmxmms and icesound respectively. They can be safely ignored.cylock wrote:My question is when it installed it said it was missing libxmms.so.0 and libesd.so.0

See EZpup Help page on the wiki where this was detailed.
Hope that helps.
