I am happily using Pup 3.01 for work on my new pup remaster. But I was wondering what the key differences were between 2.17 and 3.01 as I understand 2.17 is much more stable and mature.
I am wanting to strip pup down to bare bones (or use a barebone remaster), install KDE to replace JWM/Rox and many provided apps (CD Burning etc).
I see there is a stripped down version of 2.17 so was considering that as my base, but also I don't want to lose any integrated hardware detection or other fundamental features that might be improved in 3.01 over 2.17.
Thanks for any advice you can offer!
Pup 2.17 or 3.01 for new KDE Puplet?
2.17
One difficult hardware I encountered uses an I/O chip "Winbond W83627HF" for which 3.01 had some difficulty. 2.17 easily handled it.
