how to run existing puppy installation using vmware?

I have an existing puppy 3.01 installed on a compact flash (CF on IDE installation). I want to run this existing puppy inside Windows XP using VMware but I don't have any clue how to. Is it even possible?

Yes, this is possible. But to do so, you would need the VMware Workstation, which is payware. In other words, you must buy it. Or get someone else who owns it to make a .vmx file for you, but this will be hard. It is possible to do it that way too, though.
