Stuff that has yet to be sorted into a category.

you didn't answer whether you're aware of any other slideshow apps that met you're specs...so presumably, the answer is no?

With regard to installing Imgv on puppy, you're between the proverbial rock & hard place. I'm guessing that one of the things that you like about puppy is it's small size? But then you're after an app that needs Python, Pygame & Pil...decisions, decisions? From what I can see, your options are to take the hard route, & try & port this yourself, or look for a larger, python friendly, distro.
Yes, Imgv on puppy would have been great.. but looks like it has many dependencies that might not play

Wilsonb,

a quick google reveals that picasa can, apparently, run slideshows with fade effect. This app works in puppy. Whether it meets your requirements only you can judge.

Ditto for this one:

http://www.xmission.com/~jstanley/slideshow.html

Which is available here:

I might download this one & try compiling it:

http://diascope.sourceforge.net/

Hmmm! maybe too hasty in posting this without enough research. There's also a 5M resource file. I'll see what's in that, & how much is required.

I deleted the diascope attachment.

Picasa would be good, but would not run. Gave me bin error message. Will post more specifics when in front of it.
