Hot or Wot - Puppy FireHydrant U 2

#1 Post by Ray MK »

FH is it a ???? or is it a ????? - NO it is FireHydrant

A puppy 3.01 suitably tweaked by ttuuxx - refined better describes what has been done here - conky, a nice Organizer, Firefox - look and see, Xine like you've never seen before.

And a few little FH extra's along with Gimpshop make this a must have Puppy.

Sweet as you like - and this is the lightweight FH - have a look at Inferno.

At startup you are even shown how to find the location for inserting your own background image - you don't wanna see what I've selected.

All this in under a gig on your hdd - on a 6yr old Acer laptop 233mb ram (256 b4 video share) 1.?hz celeron processor - it zooms.

Put this Puppy on your Pc - very impressive.

Out of interest - have you seen the latest UK Ford festa advert - where the crazy DogBot thats meant to guard the festa - perceives a FireHYDRANT as a potential threat and attack's it - with FH consequences - brilliant.

If anyone has the ability to grab a frame or two of DogBot and or DogBot attacking the FH, would love to have a jpg as a background for FH.

Meanwhile - continue to appreciate all the hard work, dedication and support that you all provide to make Puppy the joy that it is to have and use.

Here's the "Living water 2.17" Link
http://murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic. ... 090#173090
I might port that one to the "Fire Hydrant" Line, would be interesting , if i removed the church related applications, Themes, it could be a lightweight firefox, java, flash mix around 135MB or a bit less. It sure does run fast:)

Wonderful - you know what's going on as background now.

Many thanks

Downloaded LW Opera and burning in a minute.

Regarding porting to FH, having an animated DogBot with sound, growling at FH as an optional background would be really nice.

Let you know how LW runs on my old kit very soon.

Again - Many Thanks & More

Regards - Ray

Luv it - running on 5yr old Patriot Laptop 128mb ram (98mb after vid card mem share) 20gig hdd and a Celeron 800mhz proc. It Fly's

Had a bit of a stupidity spasm when installing - forgot to save grub settings and then brain scrambled and forgot how to setup UK keyboard etc.

All ok now. Using Opera for the 1st time - nice.

Luv the detail in the graphics / icons etc

Am I being dim thinking I could play a dvd on PC with internal CDrom only (not rw or dvd play etc)

Presume an external usb DVD player would be ok.

Really nicely done - and thanks for DogBot

Best Regards - Ray
