Cardreader USB smargo smartreader plus not recognized

#1 Post by petty »

Hi,

I bought a cardreader USB Smargo smartreader Plus.
It is not recognised by Linux.
I use Puppy v3 on a Micro Client with 2 USB-ports and a CF-card (2 MB)
Is there anybody what I have to do (install) to make it working?

Thanks a lot for the answers tohelp me out.

Hi All,

After several restarts the Smargo reader is found.
All is OK now.

Seems to be a common problem and not just puppy or linux, I've even had it happen with windows.
I have one reader which includes its own 1Gb of memory. Sometimes when you plug it in only the inbuilt memory will be found and not the card.
Appears that the only 'fix' is to plug it in, unplug it, plug it --------------------- until it is eventually found.
I have a usb scanner that exhibits the same behavour.
Cheers
Geoff.
