When one is trying out different derivatives of Puppy it would help to have the boot screen have the derivative name and derivative version number on the first line, not the generic 'Puppy' version that you made the derivative from.
This would also help new users that run into problems so they know the proper questions to ask. Several times in the #puppylinux chat room we have spent a lot of time trying to help a person to get Puppy up and running only to find out it was not a regular Puppy but a derivative with different programs then we thought we were working with.
big_bass has been kind enough to do this on his latest FatFree. Thank you.

For those who don't know, to do this you would edit the boot.msg file before building the new ISO. This file is actually outside the normal filesystem. It's one of the files directly on the ISO, along with isolinux.cfg, vmlinuz, pup_xxx.sfs, initrd.gz, etc. You can edit that file with Geany, just be careful not to mess up the funny characters. If you want to modify that file more extensively, use a hex editor (hexedit is in the PETget repo already) and read the syslinux site for an explanation of the file's format.
If you want to go so far as to change the puppy pfix=ram to mypup pfix=ram, you'd modify isolinux.cfg. The syslinux site also explains how to use this (isolinux is part of syslinux, which is why this stuff can also be applied to USB installs with slight changes).
