How do I stop [ctrl]+f from launching the console?

#1 Post by Jon_J »

In Puppy 3.01, do I use xbindkeys or Mouse/Keyboard wizard to change this function?
I prefer to use [ctrl]+f in Leafpad to search with, but it launches a console instead.

Thank you for any help on this,
Jon

Hi,

I (vaguely) remember having this problem too. I think one of the default key combos in xbindkeys is set to open a terminal with CTL-F so I:

- ran xbindkeys config
- highlighted the item where the value for "Action" was set to "rxvt"
- clicked on "Get Key"
- entered a new key-combo (Shift-CTL-T, in my case)

This freed up CTL-F for doing things like FINDing things!

That fixed it! Thank you very much. :)
I just deleted the entry and clicked [Apply]
I'll assign a different key to it later.
I'm trying to setup my Puppy desktop PC similar to my Zaurus.
I know I should be doing this the other way around...
