In JWM Configuration -> keyboard shortcuts, i want to add a new one. I tried Ctrl+Tab and Shift+Tab but they both conflict with basic applications.
And according to their manual, Caps Lock and NumLock is not supported. So can someone tell me if Alt+`(below ESC) will conflict with something? Does any application use it?
And I don't know if this is JWM, but when I click on shutdown -> power off computer in the Menu, It powers off even if there is an unsaved document in an application. Is there a way to prevent this? In case this is unavoidable with Puppy and not so with another Linux distribution, I'd like to know what part (or program) of Linux this is linked with.
JWM customization questions
The ROX-Filer is a windows manager, desktop and a file manager. It you notice there are ways of assigning keyboard shortcuts to it.
JWM is a windows manager and as you've discovered there are ways of defining keyboard shortcuts to it.
Puppy doesn't make much use of the ROX-Filer as a windows manager that I can see - but it certainly is your desktop manager and default file manager.
Then of course applications have their own keyboard shortcuts.
----------------------
Which of these get precedence? And under what circumstances?
Ouch. This might be tough to figure out when there are conflicting shortcuts.
I'd think the general rule is the 'active' application will get preference, but I don't think it's a solid rule at all.
--------------------
My post certainly doesn't help 'solve' any specifics you're up against, but I hope it helps describe to a fair degree what I think you're dealing with.

another question about JWM... :
on the page http://joewing.net/programs/jwm/config.shtml#mouse
it says :
Isn't there a way to disable this annoying feature?
My question is already answered on the page above, so sorry for being stubborn, but this feature makes me really nervous. I'd rather not use the mouse wheel at all than have this feature.
on the page http://joewing.net/programs/jwm/config.shtml#mouse
it says :
Mouse Bindings
* Any button on the root window will bring up the root menu.
* The right button will show the window menu on the frame.
* The left button will resize if on the border or move if in the title
bar.
* The middle button will move anywhere on the frame.
* A double click on the title bar of a window will toggle shading.
* The mouse wheel will move through menus when a menu is open, show
the root menu when over root, or switch desktops when over the pager.
Note: In the future, this may be configurable
