Am a bit of a newbie to Puppy, but am already a big fan.
One thing I'm having trouble with is compiling the latest version of GSPCA for Puppy 3.01. I was wondering if anyone has managed it and if so, could they post the file on this board?

Apologies. Have had trouble using that version of GSPCA. Have been poking around and I think the problem is because my webcam uses a VIMICRO VC0323 chipset which is only dealt with in hte latest version of GSPCA.
I've tried downloading devx_301.sfs and compiling it, but have had no luck. Will keep trying, but was wondering in hte meantime if anyone had compiled GSPCA 200711224 and if so, could they please post the KO file on this board.

Hi,
I was just 'having a go' and built this driver GSPCA 20071224 webcam driver for Puppy4-experimental-2.6.25.4.
It works for on a fresh boot pfix=ram Puppy4-experimental-2.6.25.4
attached is:
go.sh - a small script to install the module and load it.
gspca.ko - the module
It takes a _lot_ of cpu compile time to build these things! eek!

For Puppy 3.x and Puppy 4.0 MU has a complete webcam package called Muppywebcam-Puppy301.pup which contains the gspca and pwc webcam drivers. It's available here -

You're right, I was a little ambiguous there.
Just to clarify, I built the above gspca 20071224 driver, with and for, the Puppy4 4.01alpha1, the buggy developers only edition.
However the Puppy4 4.00 with 2.6.25 kernel may be similar enough for it to work there also, but I've really no idea if that will work, if someone tries that, can they post the results please?
