Viewing memory usage

#1 Post by Daz »

How can I see the memory usage? I tried installing an applet that was supposed to go in the tray and display that but it never appeared; even after a restart. Is there any terminal command I could use?

Hello Daz:

Would 'free' (without the quotes) be what you are looking for?

"top" from the command line will also display memory usage and much more. Specific to memory, "top" also shows cached memory, which Puppy's "free" (or BusyBox version thereof) doesn't.
