I tried just copying font to this file and didnt work. Guess this is correct location?? I am trying to get xcheckers to run in puppy and get:
"xcheckers: Error, could not load font lucidasans-14"
Mepis has this font and running the xcheckers binary is trivial there. I just unzipped xcheckers directory to desktop, brought up terminal window, cd to xcheckers directory, ./xcheckers, and bing, bang, boom, I'm playing checkers.
How do I add a font to /usr/share/fonts/default/type1
Saw the line you referred to. Added simular line to fonts.alias file for lucidasans-14.
Here are existing lines plus one I added:
lucidasanstypewriter-12 -b&h-lucidatypewriter-medium-r-normal-sans-12-120-75-75-m-70-iso8859-1
lucidasans-10 -b&h-lucidatypewriter-medium-r-normal-sans-10-100-75-75-m-60-iso8859-1
lucidasans-14 -b&h-lucidatypewriter-medium-r-normal-sans-14-140-75-75-m-80-iso8859-1
Worked fine AFTER rebooting. Puppy apparently doesnt know about changes except upon rebooting.
