alsa loses config at reboot

#1 Post by rubing »

Hey Fellow Pups,

I am trying to get the sound working right. If I use the sound wizard everything configures perfectly!!!!

However, when I go to reboot....I loose the configuration and have to start the wizard again. maybe i have to add some kind of line to a modprobe file???

thx.

What are you booting from?
A CD, jump drive, hard drive, network?
If you are booting from a CD you will lose your ALSA settings, unless you save back to the CD or a jump drive ,or a partition on the hard drive.
It also depends on what kind of install you have , full, or frugal.
You can save back to the CD if you have a CD burner.

I hope this helps.
If at first you don't succeed try try again!

Good call. I configured it prior to full installation. And thought it would install/save with my configured settings. Now its saved!!
