Forum search help

#1 Post by 1ColdBeer »

Hi,
Is there any way to do a forum search of topic only? I've been trying to find help myself. Maybe i am missing something? (again)

I have a problem with a mouse and i would like to do a search that spawns topics with " mouse trouble" or "usb to ps2". ........ just mouse.... :?:

Any search tips will be helpfull.

Thanks

Apparently not, if I understand your question. However, I'm not real clear on just what the various search options do. There is a "Display Results As: Posts/Topics" option just above the "Search" button, which I have found useful. Try tinkering with it.

to search for "usb" and also "ps2", enter these to search

"usb and ps2"

the problem is, it could be "ps/2" or something else.

Hi,

I dumped the slash and that worked better, but if ya could just search the subject line it would be a snap to find the answers.

I'm not a phpbb guy, but i think there is a hack to carry the original subject line through the whole thread and another to add the "search subject only" option.

Is it just me :? that finds it hard to search phpbb forums without that option?
OK,.. I'm done now :)

I'm going to fix the mouse with X.org too.. (found with no / search)

Thanks

when replying to a post, there is a subject line available; mostly we leave that blank. Would filling it in make any diff to Search?
