right, that's how it's supposed to work, but it's not working. it's not changing the taskbar font, just the ones everywhere else. the taskbar font gets changed to that fixed font in all the gtk2 themes, and there seems to be no way I can find to change it.ttuuxxx wrote:click

Hi change the fonts in /root/.jwmrc <--- open as text
that should do it
I can't test it because I'm using icewm

Here's my latest effort, with ttuuxxx's modified EZpup-4.0v5, MU's modified gDesklets for Dingo, my own icon set and a suitable background to match my Dark Ruby IceWM theme, too.
Hey WhoDo That looks great!!!
If you wanted a black blinky with a dark grey background and freememory applet with a black background here's a pet package.
I went blinky changing nuts, lol

- Once installed go to /root/.icewm/startup (hidden file)
Left click the startup file and blinky will change straight away.

Thanks, ttuuxxx. Looks like I'm not the only one downloading it either!ttuuxxx wrote:Hey WhoDo That looks great!!!

I downloaded the wall papers you posted at those links and they were nice:)Iretomiwa wrote:@cthisbear
I guess it is deviant art user kol's version of the long and winding road.
I grabbed the seasons wallpapers here.
Enjoy!!!
I had 1 problem with them. The file size was crazy, large images used as desktop backgrounds can slow down a pc response time dramatically. Windows was terrible for that. So I compressed the image formats, basically reduced the file size from 12MB for 12 pictures to 2.8MB. Thats without any loss of quality what so ever, I probably could of reduced it a bit more, anyways at that size I couldn't upload it to the forum so then basically I separated the images by size, since most users only use 1 image size as a background, and the largest size I had two split into 2 pet packages because it was over the 1MB upload on the forum.
enjoy

P.s I made them automatically install into your backgrounds folder

Not much to be proud of..
I made it to appear as DSL. Not real crazy. Main changes are the JWM tray.
I spent quite a lot of time on conkyrc, still not happy with it (still has black background). Only thing you may find cool is that I have conky start up at boot and then conky runs a script to start my swap ("pre_exec" variable)
How do you guys get rxvt with a clear background? I sorta like that.

You might try downloading mrxvt. That was the only way I could figure out how, besides there are other features that the normal rxvt doesn't have. How do you guys get rxvt with a clear background? I sorta like that.
I had to laugh at your desktop. You made it look like dsl. That's funny considering your comment at the beginning as well.
I figured someone would laugh at it.
Well, I don't know what happened but my screen went blank and I had to purge the system. I now have the tray on top, and I haven't changed my theme. And with the tray on top brings up a small problem... When I go to change the volume via the tray button the slider disappears before I can get to it
The JWM configuration system still doesn't like my hand written tray file... I don't know why. If I try to edit the buttons using that it just puts a <JWM> variable...
mrxvt? I'll google it.

gday
Fat-free 3.01 with KDE358
Conky with feh running in background to allow transparency
top panel autohides so i have a fairly clean desktop
have a little problem that i think stems from feh - my desktop icons drift slightly north after each boot - so i have drag them back down - annoying but i can live with it
cheers

Here's one of the game computer as it is right now...
Still Puppy 4.0 with JWM.
Specifics:
Background: Ascending Penguin by coolart from Deviant Art
Iconset: OxygenRefit2-black version from gnome-look redone for Puppy
JWM/Gtk combo: Black IV (from JWM themes exchange thread)/fishing-the-sky gtk (from forum also)
...and I'll post that icon set if anyone is interested...I think the black icons turned out well.

just in case anyone hasn't figured out how to do system sounds(well, boot and shutdown) i have come up with my own method.
i went to .xinitrc and edited it with this line after the "startwm" section but before the "wbar" section(if you have one);
wavplay /root/.icewm/startup.wav
replace my path with yours.
and for shutdown, i edited wmpoweroff to contain the same thing, but with the path to a shutdown sound.
i don't know if anyone has a better way, but i find this one the easiest for me.

you are welcome. it requires you to have wavplay installed. i don't know if it comes with puppy or whether you have to download it. could someone confirm this? i installed it, but it may have previously existed in the system.
i am kinda working on a script to use timidity (midi file player) graphically. it is a learning process, and i haven't gotten that far on it but i hope to post it within a few weeks. i can get the dialog boxes to show and am slowly working towards an easy functioning way to convert midi files to WAV files.
