PET Package Request: Python and wxpython

#1 Post by NoNameAmI »

I've been trying for quite awhile now to get a working install of python and wxpython. I have a program that requires both.

I'm requesting if someone could find/make such a package in PET format, I would be highly grateful.

Thank you.

From watching your homepage I assume, you use Puppy 4.

A often used python is the one from wnop.
You can get it from this thread:
http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic.php?t=32242

Then you might convert wxPython from Slackware with tgz2pet

http://www.slacky.eu/index.php?option=c ... &Itemid=65

Here you see the dependencies:
http://repository.slacky.eu/slackware-1 ... k-required
- libsdl you can install with petget.
- libxcb was released as dotpet in some threads.
http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic.php?p=223098 (libsdingo from Lobster).

Please backup your savefile first, in case the pack is too new (though you could uninstall it with petget).
In that case, try this older one:

http://repository.slacky.eu/slackware-1 ... on/2.8.7.1

Either I'm missing something or something still isn't right.

I managed to get a package made from python 2.5 and wxpython. I think I got all the deps.

It still seems the program doesn't want to run. It ran on Ubuntu so I know it works.

The error:
C++ assertion "Ok()" failed at ../src/common/image.cpp(1698) in GetAlpha(): invalid image
