Hi Todd
amazing work :)
I like them, Maybe not as default for puppy because they are block letters, but still a great set.
I only noticed a few lower case ones are touching the next row when using abiword, If you increase the font size to 24+ they touch.
"g j p q y" maybe shorten them a hair?
Other than that they look great and the default size, you can't go wrong :)

I just tried them again and well maybe you could redesign the "and" symbol "&"
it looks like an unknown letter/symbol? Thats the only one I would redo out of all of them. Just trying to give some sort of feedback.
still great job

Once you have unzipped the file (click on it and extract)
place it here to make use of it:

Code: Select all

/usr/share/fonts/default/TTF/Todd.ttf
I am intrigued :)
This seems a very basic font (great for the Puppy ethos)
What was your idea behind this?
Could it be the default in Puppy 4.2 under the name Puppy Todd or Puppy Font?
What are the advantages of having our own font?
Are you planning style variation?

I hope you release it under the LGPL
Our own font . . . 8)

I also wanted to make fonts a few times, I started but never finished
Windows has tons of programs that help to make them.
Anyways I packaged up your font so people can easily install/remove etc

This is the next step, the extended Latin characters. I speak and write a lot in Spanish, so have the motivation to continue development.
"g j p q y" maybe [can be] shorten. . .a hair
This is exactly the type of criticism I am looking for.
I hope you release it under the LGPL
I am being the Devil's advocate, but why not the OFL license?

As long as it has a dog license that we can use, Puppys will be happy

I am a calligrapher, but the need for hand drawn characters has long since gone away. Creating this font has really filled a creative void in my life. Long term, I would like to round out the letters, making a "sans" font. My first priority, however, was to create a complete "skeleton" font: Now I can go back and improve it.
