Puppy 4.1: Ayttm crashes on invite

#1 Post by prestosd5 »

When using Ayttm (the default chat client in Puppy 4.1) on the Puppy IRC channel (in Puppy 4.1), if I invite another person to chat privately it crashes. Works fine in Pidgen though.

Code: Select all

Ayttm version 0.5.0-81
GTK+ version 2.12.1
Features:
Operating system: Linux 2.6.25.16 (i686)
C Library: GNU libc 2.6.1
Signal: 11

I think you have more success to find an answer when posting in this thread.
Time savers:
Find packages in a snap and install using Puppy Package Manager (Menu).

The questions are:

1) Is this a Puppy issue or an attym issue, and

2) Did this possible bug get posted to http://sourceforge.net/tracker/?group_i ... tid=550744?

No, it's not on there.

(Just added the detailed report above)

Yo prestosd5,

Sorry I am so late replying. I am watching all the threads that apply to
Ayttm and it is just luck that I discovered you have started a new one.

I have tested private chat in Ayttm in the past, but based on your post
I just tried it again. It still works.

I am using Puppy 406-Conservative, but I have the latest Ayttm.

I typed:

/msg nickofinvitee openingtext

Then Ayttm opened a tab with my friend's nick on it and we chatted.

Hope this helps,

GeoW

Just click the "Invite User" button. That crashes it for me every time.

Yes - did it to me too.

I believe this is on the list of areas needing work.

When I reported it, I was informed of the method I
described:

/msg nick message

That works dependably.
