How to edit the Start Menu? - SOLVED

#1 Post by Alan-LB »

How can I rename or delete a Start Menu item?

Using right click only opens the item - it doesn't give me a menu like other OS's.

TIA

Alan

1. Find the .desktop file for the entry in /usr/share/applications (unless it is /usr/local/share... - cant' remember)
2. Delete it.
3. Open a terminal and run `fixmenus`
4. Restart jwm.

To rename it, do the same, except instead of deleting it, open it as a text file, and edit it - it should be fairly obvious which part to edit.
Do you know a good gtkdialog program? Please post a link here

Classic Puppy quotes
