OK, sane packages should be previously installed.sintot wrote:I think the problem was that I installed xsane (and sane-backend) after installing hpliplite
Thanks for the feedback.
Hi JB4x4, I have been trying to, but with little succes. The main problem is that hp-toolbox refuses to start for user root, and if it is run as user spot, there are problems related to X windows. All in all, hp-toolbox does not work at present in puppy 4.1.1. That makes the full version useless, at least the one I have been playing with until now.JB4x4 wrote:@lluamco
Will you be updating HPLIP (standard version) also??
JB
Code: Select all
/etc/init.d/cups reload
/etc/init.d/cups restart
Well, restarting CUPS won't help because the problem is not detecting the printer in my network. The problem is detecting the DRIVER for the printer. It seems that the printer model/driver for my HP PSC1315xi ALL-IN-ONE is not here. It's odd though because I installed hpijs just for kicks and I saw the HPPSC1310 driver WHICH does work for 1315xi. So how come the HPLIP package, which is supposedly supposed to have all the driver that HPIJS should have, does not have my driver?lluamco wrote:Hi exProphecy,
please try:
1. Switch off and switch on your printer. Check if it appears in cups. In case not,
2. Restart cups doing:and recheck cups.Code: Select all
/etc/init.d/cups reload /etc/init.d/cups restart
I hope that helps.

Please try opening an rxvt terminal and type:exProphecy wrote:Okay so xsane still cannot detect my HP PSC 1315xi. Any ideas?
