ARGHHH... trashed my puppy 411 instal going down the dot pup route. I will have another go with the pet links. I lost the desktop icon and nothing short of a complete wipe and install would clear it. Lucky puppy only takes 5 minutes to reinstall

Use
http://sharenload.com/download.php?file ... -engv5.pet

type the security number in, then a popup window happens, on the top of the right hand side click close ad, then click the download button again and the file should popup.
I just tried it :)

Thanks for the link. Success I now have the pet vlc version installed and working. Now all I need is a working link for

http://puppylinux.ca/tpp/bugs/opera-9.62.pet

Will normal service be resumed next month?

Hi Dingo

I'm trying from india, maybe that's why it's not working. The site is up when I go through Anonymouse but can't find the file I was looking for - was not interested in VLC but in ff3_pack_f10.sfs ... any idea where I can find it? :-(

Left clicking in Windows gives me the same message, but if I right click and select "save link as", the download works fine.

Just tried to download flash10 from the ca site and It saved 1k of 1k. It works as in the functionality of your browser but there is still no files to download.

Yes, but if you open that 1k file in a text editor or viewer, it will contain the same dreaded error message :-(

(Still hunting for a copy of NVIDIA-173.14.12-k2.6.25.16.pet on a mirror that works !)

Thanks sml,

Yes I did read that thread (posted there too actually!).

afecelis did put an Nvidia driver up on another host, but (unfortunately for me) it is a newer driver .. 177.82, whereas I am needing 173.14

:-(

No worries :) I thought the newer driver would be better but I guess it must have a bug in the newer version or something.

ah .. no .. the joys of the NVidia closed drivers .. only certain (newer) cards are supported by the latest drivers.

The card I have is only supported by the 173.14.x series of drivers ..

thanks anyway!

The puppylinux.igsobe.com site also seems to be down now.

You know, if hosting fees are getting to be too much, I don't think it would be unreasonable for folks to set up a download site with a micropayments system, and charge a fee of 10¢ or 25¢ per download. My sites are on metered hosting, and I have been thinking about releasing a couple puplets, but I really can't shoulder the download costs. I was thinking about setting up a change jar like that.

:D Hello,

The Florida site ,puppylinux.igsobe.com, had a RAID failure..

Puppylinux.ca was hit by a downloaderbot or something and was pushed over its bandwidth limit...

Fixes are forthcoming...

Well, this experience shows how important puppylinux.ca really is to us. Without it we only have the (very) limited official repo, and ad hoc uploads.

Good to a have a central place.
