the package installer...

the package manager in 4.12 does not seem to want to connect through a proxied connection. does anyone want to help me with this? i have a home proxy that is firewalled for security, but how do i tell the package manager to use it? thanks!

oh, another thing... the update with a full install does not seem to work from 4.1 to 4,12 . do i just have to upgrade to 4.11 first and then to 4.12? thanks!
