Sometimes when I wake Puppy up from being suspended, my USB ports (on a PCI card) don't get switched back on (Regardless of whether anything was plugged into them). This means I have to reboot if I need to plug in a camera or a USB drive or anything.
Once, my onboard USB ports didn't get switched back on either, so I also had no mouse.
Does anyone know if it is possible to manually switch USB ports on?
Resume from suspend - USB ports don't turn on!?

Did you ever solve this?
I wonder if reloading the usb modules would help.
I suppose this would not be an option if they were in use.

Suspend scripts usually try and unload as many modules as possible, then re-load them on resume.
As for USB, when you resume the controller is reset, so the devices are all scanned again and given new numbers, thus they need to be "re-detected" to be used.

I doubt it.Béèm wrote:Could restart of X be of help here?
What exactly is your problem: drives missing? Network connection not working? The solution is generally to have the suspend script unload the module and the resume script load them again.

Dougal, my comment was destinate for disciple.
I thought that when restarting X USB was scanned again and made available. So that's not the case.
