[SOLVED]compiling with puppy 412

i've searched and read several puppy post, and i'm still not ready to attempt the install of devx_412.sfs.

from various post and BarryK compiling page it was easy to get up and running when running from live cd, but i remain confused about how to proceed now that puppy is sda1 hdd installed.
