Which USB Ethernet Dongles work with Puppy?

#1 Post by Tid »

Running a home network and was wondering if anyone knows of any USB ethernet dongles that have drivers and work with Puppy. I have been looking around on ebay but every vendor replies to my messages with "Won't work with Linux". I have a feeling they just don't want to support Linux but didn't want to waste my money. Does anyone use one or have faced this problem in the past?

I use a d-link dub-e100 adapter that I bought from e-bay a couple years ago. It says it's for usb 2.0 but works with older usb 1.1 also. Puppy's network connection wizard recognizes it and sets it up.

Hello Tid

I use a NETGEAR-WG111v3 USB adapter on one of my PC's, using the windows driver via Ndiswrapper.
It works OK.

Hi Tid,
I use a refurbished D-link wua-1340 which I got 2 years ago. Puppy spots it every time and loads driver for it.

Hey guys, thanks for all the input. I actually just brought home a Cisco Aironet 802.11a/b/g Wireless PCI Adapter from work, plugged it in and BoxPup picked it up just fine. Thanks again!
