I would like to compile the latest 2.4 kernel, it has some fixes for one of my sound problems. (patched i810 driver) I'm new at this, so other than doing a make oldconfig and following the other instructions posted on the forum, are there any pit-falls to look out for when upgrading?
P.S. Will Puppy be upgrading to 2.4.32 soon?

jcoder24 has an ALSA DotPup here http://www2.rapidupload.com/d.php?file=dl&filepath=6629
Your i810 will work great with the ALSA snd-intel8x0 driver.
This will be easier than recompiling a kernel. And even then, you would have an old style audio driver which doesn't support full-duplex.
