how to fix faulty partition table?

#1 Post by XiaolinDraconis »

i recently switched to linux and im trying puppy as my first
distro.. i love it and i want to get a full install
but i got some big problems

i wanted to resize and give all free space to puppy
but gparted says the drive is unallocated
i cant figure out what to do!!!
i know its allocated and formatted ntfs.. it has all my files
i cant just wipe the drive cause i have no place to back it up

i took a look at pdisk and chose to use the fdisk utility
it says i have 19547 cylinders and may cause problems
with software that runs at boot time and partition managers

next i typed v to verify partition table and it tells me
that i have 312590723 which is greater than the maximum
312581808 (dont know what this means) so now im lost

if anyone can help me give a puppy a home please try
