Just a note: You can turn off the plugin-popup in preferences.

I know why there are double plugins even with new pup_save..forget that I asked...
funny thing is..like Horoscope, when you choose deepthought theme ..it still be rouge by default...not when you choose other theme, it will follow..maybe the same goes with mail and clock hands now only follow theme, no dark or light but that's ok
Hurray..now there's a rainbow sidebar

Don't know why that happened.
I made a new theme 'Silver' to set shades of grey and white. When I applied it, the widgets all defaulted to white.
I copied colours from a backup and placed them in each config. Clicked apply and all is well again. It even applies 'Silver' theme now.
Horoscope has given me an idea. i will do one for Moon phase, so the moon icon is always white.

Awww, I'm going out. Everything's going wrong.
Different computer, no changes. Click on desktop, widgets vanish. Click on desktop, widgets return. ??? What the ???
Convinced now there's a bug at work in either 1.9.9 or RC2 .
Two machines updated to 1.9.9 and both exhibiting strange behaviour.
Both load two analog clocks, but unless you realise they are stacked on top of each other. Drag top one across to reveal second.
If i click remove analog clock from pwidgets active window then apply, it will remove both analog clocks, no problem.
Then when i select analog clock to add, it also opens theme window.
Close that and use up arrow and it opens theme window again.
Both pcs do this.
