No audio with puppy linux 4.1.1 and 4.2
No audio with puppy linux 4.1.1 and 4.2
When I run alsa wizard to set up the sound , it finds via82xx , but when it proceeds , a message says error (error 564 or something like that). I haven't found any post similar to mine. Any suggestions?
Unfortunately on this forum I sometimes suffer from
---- Irritable Brow Syndrome -----------
I suspect others suffer from it too.
What brings it on?
Those who do not post their hardware specs and the exact
Puppy version they are using.
The BUMP is now in your court.
We would love everyone to have a great out of the box
Puppy Linux wow experience.
But does your mum still tie your shoelaces for you too?
And if you do find a solution please post back and edit your
post as solved.
That let's the love that I'm not quite feeling now go around.
Chris.

Ok . What would it help , if I mentioned that my pc has:
CPU CELERON 1.8 MHZ
RAM 1 GB
SOUND CARD , onboard via82xx (thats what alsa wizard showed)
and motheboard I don't know!
The Americans say: Nobody likes a wise guy!
I'm curious to see , how would you ask for help, if you had a problem.
I'm not a newbie , but I'm not a developer either!
Now , I'm asking about a problem that a have with my sound , because I'm sure I'm not the only one.

Unfortunately that card seems to be a porker.
I have spent over an hour loooking at different forums and used
different searches. Plus last night. No easy answers.
Tempestuous or another guru may get some hint from this post.

Unfortunately on mostl Linux distro forums this is a stinker.
Hang in there and see what comes up.
So you see I'm not a wise guy today, not even half smart.
Good luck..............Chris.

I admit , I overreacted. It's because , up to puppy 4.00 , everything went OK , and from 4.1.1 no puppy , no puplet has given any sound, I'll try somethig , which worked for a compaq armada 7400 http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic.php?t=29907

Sound of an HP Pavillion DV2000 running Puppy
Mr. or Mrs. Smooth,
I don't know how deeper thought solved your problem. Mine is still the same as before. Maybe you can tell everybody what magic or spell you used!
On my DV2100 (running Celeron 1.6 GHz with 1 GB RAM), I set the sound to max. Now the sound through headphone is extremely loud, but through speakers is barely audible and muffle!! I guess that's the best we can get with current puppy! The 4.1.1 had the same issue.
Share your magic!
