April's almost over, where is TEENpup 2009 Legacy??
Hello Everyone interested in TEENpup,
I hoped to have TEENpup 2009 Legacy out by April, but it now looks like being May.
A lot of fine tuning has been done and some still needs to be done to create a Newbie friendly modern version of Linux suitable for all those old Pentium III PC's sitting in storage every where.
The focus now is to attract Windows users over to Linux so this version of TEENpup has been created to make them feel at home.

Hello Colonel Panic,
ttuuxxx's Firepup works fine with the Puppy 2 series and as you know is a mixture of Firefox 1.5, 2 & 3 series. I now plan to include it in TEENpup 2009 Legacy. Also Java is version 1.6.11 and Flash is version 10beta which works fine but the later versions of Flash 10 don't.
So hopefully with these 3 main Web components, TEENpup in it current form should be still usable for at least a couple years.

Thanks. I may want to disable Flash and Java though (or at least put them somewhere where they don't interfere with my main browser) as I find they make the system more likely to freeze up (thus necessitating two or three reboots to be able to use the dialer again) and most of the sites I visit don't need either one.
At the moment I'm running the Rudy (Puppy) sfs inside Teenpup 2008, and the combination (Rudy Teen?) works well.
Good luck with the new release!

Hi again John. Just one more thing; will the new Teenpup have spell checking enabled? The old one (Teenpup 2008) doesn't seem to have spell checking in any of its applications, such as Abiword and Seamonkey, and it's the only thing I think it lacks (the same goes for Puppy 2.15 CE, otherwise an excellent Puppy).

Hello Colonel Panic,
I'm currently posting this to you on a test version of TEENpup 2009 Legacy and spell check underlines any wrong spelled words in at least Seamonkey and Abiword. I thought I'd added that to TEENpup 2008 maybe I added it to TEENpup 2009 Legacy a while ago. So spell check should work for you when TEENpup 2009 Legacy is released.
I've just got to add a couple more things and then run TEENpup 2009 Legacy for at least a week installed to HD to see if any last problems arise and then I'll uploaded it. Looking good for Mid May release.
