I am running 4.2 retro and decided to try installing jwm-456-i386-1.pet in the hope that it would get the network connection blinkies to show up properly; it didn't. Instead it hangs the package manager so that it displays "PETget package manager Updating menu, please wait" indefinitely. After rebooting the PC and looking in package manager, I can see this item listed as installed but when I click on it, it will not uninstall. Help would be appreciated.
Would installing 4.2.1 solve the problem? Can I somehow install 4.2.1 as an upgrade while keeping my documents and settings intact?
Thanks in advance.
How to uninstall jwm-456-i386-1.pet package?

I am afraid, you didn't wait long enough. Installing such a package can take a long time and when stopped it's in a unstable state.
So if the install didn't finish, the uninstall might not be available.
In /root/.packages, you might find the files list for the package you tried to install. Mostly it's the name of the package.files Open this file and you know where what is installed.
But beware, you are touching JWM here. I don't know, but you might brake your system.
