If your SATA HDD is recognized by Windows but not by Puppy:

#1 Post by LazyLabrador »

Recently purchased new PC with SATA HDD , fine with Windows but Puppy and Gparted refused to see the hard drive.
Many forum articles about the topic but could not find a solution for my setup.

Apparent Problem:
The DVD/CD drive is an IDE type and set to master. I set the DVD/CD to SLAVE , with the jumper and presto the SATA drive is now seen by puppy.. This is despite the fact that SATA doesn't use the slave/master system anyway.

Haven't retested this conclusion ..but puppy is working and I'm happy. :D

Always good when people post back a solution
off their own bat.
I salute you.
