Laptop wireless problem with prolonged use of transmission

I have tried many Distros but always default to
puppy.
I have Puppy 4.2.1 installed on a 16gb usb flash drive on my laptop. It runs very well. I have no problem printing to my windoz hosted printer, sharing files and of course browsing the internet using my wireless card. The only problem I am having is when I try downloading a bit torrent file with Transmission I lose my wireless connection after a few hours. I don't know if it is from the screen saver or if it is from the periodic "Saving to RAM" . I am saving the bit torrent file to a separate "download" file on the flash drive.
This Distro would be a perfect usb Distro if I could fix this problem.

Any help would be appreciated.
