Can't get Puppy 2.xx xorg to fill widescreen....

#1 Post by never_stop_learning »

I wanted to play with either 2.15ce or (preferably) the new TeenPup2009 on my Sony PCG-TR2AP (no hard drive, boot from CD and save to Sony Magic Gate flash drive). The problem is that on both 2.15ce and TeenPup2009, the working area does not fill the screen and I have a 1 - 1 1/2 inch black strip on both sides.

3.01 and 4.xx all work great. Tried copying the working xorg.conf from 4.2 to TeenPup2009 - no change.

The video card (from xorg.conf) is:

VendorName "Intel Corporation"
BoardName "82852/855GM Integrated Graphics Device"

I run 4.2 at 1280x800 without issue. Moving down to 800x600 on TeenPup2009 made the working screen area smaller and the black borders larger.

Any thoughts and ideas on how I can get Puppy 2.xx based distros to work on this machine are greatly appreciated.

Thank you.....
