The PuppySpace PetStore is now open, we have only had a few uploads and they are currently in Series 4 Fun Section...
Also the PetStore Forum is now fully operational with Live Chat facility, when i'm online...or whoever else I can get to moderate the site...

gposil,
Barry just added new entry about pet repos here: http://www.puppylinux.com/blog/?viewDetailed=00931
Maybe you would like to start a thread coordinating all those scattered alien repos? So that all can be aligned with what Barry wants.
Just a suggestion

He also discussed making use of the Puppy Online Database here:trio wrote:gposil,

Yes, the PetStore will adhere to the Puppy database system, it will have a PACKAGES.txt file in the site root directory, so that the PPM can use it as a repo.
I've just got to set it up...oh well no rest...

ooh, yes, Thom,
Sorry, I just thought your thread is only for standardizing the database template, not to coordinate all the alien repos (should be sticky by mods) to adhere to that standard. But if you want to use your thread, than it's just OK, maybe you should change the title and ask mods to have it sticky. This is an important issue.
thanks

In line with Barry's thoughts, I will change the upload mechanism for the PetStore, so that when you upload, you do not use ftp, but a form I will put up that requires the database entries to be entered before upload. The form will upload the file and it will automatically generate the database entry and update the PACKAGES.txt file that the Puppy Package Manager can use.
I will put a change in the upload instructions on the PetStore site as soon as i have completed scripting and database construction.

Let's see how well all of us can coordinate our efforts....I think we can make life easier for a lot of folks if we work together.trio wrote:ooh, yes, Thom,

Thank You to Uploaders
A big thank you to those who have uploaded, and to everyone else, keep those packages coming...
The Series 4 repo is coming along nicely, but don't forget the other Puppies.
Cheers

Thanks for the uploads guys...one thing, if you do not upload at text file for pets could you please indicate your name and the packages uploaded in a text file, so I can attribute the package to you...unless of course you wish to remain anonymous ...
