When I extracted the .tar.gz file, it said that it had some sort of error. I have no idea how to find that.
Anyway, I tried running it and it seemed to work fine except the keyboard shortcuts don't seem to work and especially, the delete and backspace buttons, both of which are used to get rid of an unwanted piece in the home design.
It runs on Java 1.6.14 and that is the version of java that puppy has installed too.
Anyway, you can get it for yourself to play with and see what happens: http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/swee ... ux-x86.tgz
Here's the download page with the installation instructions: http://www.sweethome3d.eu/download.jsp
Edit:
I just tried is from its webstart and the only way to deleted unwanted walls is to use the menu. The keyboard commands (such as ctrl-x) still do not work. On my regular system (SuSE 10.0) they work fine.

If that hasn't worked, suggest you post in the Sweethome 3D forum, and see what they say....Under Linux: Choose to open the SweetHome3D.jnlp downloaded file with javaws program that you'll find in the bin directory of the JRE (Java Runtime Environment).

Hello gymnart
extracted it, and got: SweetHome3D-2.0 (119MB)
Inside of this directory, i clicked on the file: SweetHome3D
the application starts without any problems, and the "keyboard commands" are also working OK
I can do all of the Ctrl-Z, Ctrl-Y, Ctrl-A, Ctrl-X, Ctrl-C, Ctrl-V etc etc
the Backspace key seems to act the same as the Delete key.
All in all, it appears to be working fine.
This probably doesn't help you at all,
but it just proves that it does work OK in Puppy.
CatDude
.
P.S
I am using a remastered Puppy-4.00 (don't know if that makes a difference or not ?)
If you tell me what Puppy version you are using, i will make a fresh frugal install of it
and see what happens.
I downloaded the above file SweetHome3D-2.0-linux-x86.tgz (45MB) (md5sum = aff986ee65c4835f97cab65d1205782a )gymnart wrote: Anyway, you can get it for yourself to play with and see what happens: http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/swee ... ux-x86.tgz

Thanks CatDude.
I'm glad that it does work after all.
I run Puppy 4.1 (Kernel 2.6.25.16) and have saved my settings onto a pendrive. Also, I have recently installed java 1.6.14 from a .pet as I've said earlier.
Anyway, how do I get at that error message that I mentioned earlier so that I can post it here?
