I have no problem with the seagull since it can be changed if you want something else...

As for me, one desktop background I tend to use most often can be seen at:

(I stretch it to fill the screen.)

I like the seagull (or is it an albatross?) It is simple and soothing. It could be wandering through cyberspace. :)

I like the seagull and the blue sky. I have set it also for my Windows desktop. It is one of the most eyefriendly desktops.

The seagull is also one of my favorites along with the "litrix" (rolling hills and sky) image.

They have soothing colors and aren't distracting.

That was me. Keep forgetting to log in. Litrix (and others) are for Ubuntu backdrop and the gull (only the gull) is for Puppy. Reminds me that I'm in Puppy and to do things carefully and differently. Besides, it's well done.

It's simple
It has good colors so the text and icons stand out.
The left side is blank so there's nothing behind the icons.
It visually imparts the spirit of Puppy. Fast, quiet and smooth. You ever hear a gull fly? No you haven't. They glide. Or is that an albatross? Well, same idea.

Most importantly it's a Puppy Classic. The big-nosed puppy is cute (nasty background color though) but the gull got there first.

Barry, why not just update the picture for Pup2? Find an albatross.

Here's a GOOD one!

We could substitute a flying puppy.

He could also have a cape.

So you seagull lovers, whay not make a contest entry :)

#13 Post by PeterSieg »

So you like the seagull wallpaper best? Why not check out
what everybody else things about that...

Make a great wallpaper for puppy and enter that in the wallpaper contest
under suggestions.. If you really feel the good old one is still the only one..
than enter that one.. feel free to join and later on vote for your favorite!

At least we can see what else comes up and see what people are finding the 'best' for 'their' puppy.

I know, that it is nearly impossible to satisfy everybody with one wallpaper.
Puppy should have a couple to choose from built in. And the more people,
that are constributing to this contest and voting, the better are the changes, that people like the selection given..

PS
Have fun :)
