Grub requiring manual install?

#1 Post by friedsonjm »

When trying to install 4.31 and variants, such a Lighthouse, after installing the software, instead of getting the 'old' semi-automatic Grub install, I'm getting the 'you can install Grub manually now,' which I have not had much success doing...

Am I missing something?

If you are using the Puppy Installer, then you may have pushed the upgrade button.

Puppy installer--universal installer; same thing.

If you do a "full" install, grub menu.lst is written automatically.
With a frugal install it has to be done manually.

With variations....I don't know. Should be the same.

Inspiron 700m, Pent.M 1.6Ghz, 1Gb ram.
Msi Wind U100, N270 1.6>2.0Ghz, 1.5Gb ram.
Eeepc 8g 701, 900Mhz, 1Gb ram.
Full installs
