Is Puppy your favorite distro?
It has not been that way always.
SuperOS back in November 2009 was the best for me.
then I thought that Linux Mint 8 KDE CE was best.
Then it was Puppy Startdust that was best.
Now I think that Puppy 431 Standard is best if one give it the codecs and plugins and pets that makes it as good as or better than the other distros because
Puppy can do frugal install with persistence on a NTFS computer without destroying the integrity of the set up.
So now Puppy are the best except when I have to use programs I have not learn to use on puppy.
I always burn an iso using the windows program BurnCDcc because I am used to how one does it. I use UNetbootin in windows to burn an USB because I am used to how it is done.
Sooner or later I learn how to do that on puppy linux hopefully.

I would say so, I always like the look of myah Os, Jeremiah Cheatham is the developer, nice person to email and myah is also built from scratch, but its not puppy, puppy is real community project thats fun to work with.
my list of favorite os is
1-Puppy
2-Myah Os
3-Linux Mint (even if he doesn't like Christian's, what a dolt)

My fave <3
It's my main OS on my home PCs, I just need to stop being lazy, backup my data and repartition my drive so I don't have so many partitions. Also get rid of that ntfs part. and then set it all linux and make one solid puppy install.

Oh, most definitely!
The only other Linux distributions I've tried- and my experience is admittedly limited here- have been flavors of Ubuntu and Debian, but aside from the prospective Lubuntu, they've all eventually lost my interest or have been incompatible with scores of my peripherals.
Puppy has only had issues with one scanner I have, but that piece of crap has never worked with anything but NT 4, anyway.
Really, I suppose I've not actually become a fan of Puppy Linux; it still annoys me regularly, but it's far less annoying that all the other operating systems and Linux distributions that I've tried. Maybe that will change someday, and I'll find a slicker system, but I'm not holding my breath. Puppy would be a tough act to follow.

I think this isn't really fair towards Clem Lefebre. All he has ever said is that he could not accept Israel's politics towards the Palestinians.ttuuxxx wrote: 3-Linux Mint (even if he doesn't like Christian's, what a dolt)

Some rather narrow minds then made the following sophism: " If he's against Israel, he's pro Palestinians, which proves he's against us Christians." Speaking of dolts...
Shortly after the events Clem apologized publicly:

As requested, I removed all political contents from this blog. Apologies to the team and the community for the initial wording and for posting it here. I now have a personal blog for this, and as this project has nothing to do with politics, there is no room for it on linuxmint.com.
I fully understand that. I would like to thank all the people, through their emails and comments, who made me realize it. Mistakes are made sometimes and thus feedback, once again, was extremely valuable.

Ummmm no he went as far to even very speak negative Christian's and Donations towards the distro, plus he went as far to say if you support the Jewish people then don't bother using Linux Mint, later he apologized and removed his statements.Bert wrote:

It could even be argued he acted in a more Christian manner than the "Christians" who attacked him.
My top 3 list are just that, my views, Clem LeFebvre should of never opened that can of worms, and of course there would be backlash, so many people around the world really liked Linux Mint and had no idea of what kind of person was behind it. I found it totally shocking personally. Plus when I said he was a "dolt" well lets look at the meaning shall we, dolt:
. Well that sums it up perfectly one might say.slow-witted or stupid person

Hi ttuuxxx,
I don't want to start an argument here. I'll respect your opinion. That doesn't mean I agree with you. Calling someone a dolt has never enlightened any discussion, as it is a very poor argument, that doesn't "sum up" anything.
Suffice to say that the majority of the Israelian and Palestinian people are dreaming of a peaceful coexistence.
Back on topic now:
My favorites list is:
1. Ubuntu, my daily workhorse
2. Linux Mint (can't wait to see the LXDE edition!)
3. Puppy

I agree Bert, what when it comes to calling him a "dolt" really I was being nice, I had lots of of choice words that came to mind, I think the whole thing took me off guard when it happened, I've always like Linux Mint, it was never a Faith based linux like "Living Water" but just a general use Linux, for the General population, And when the lead developer takes a stand against Jewish/Christians that was going against a line he should of sat back and thought about first. For years Linux Mint was like my 3 Os, It was just a kick in the chops for me, I never had any words against him etc, I just enjoyed his Os and still do, The way I look at it i that you can have some general words that can hurt a whole community even if the majority of the community has nothing to do with the argument.

Speaking of Mint, I tried it last night on the laptop and I had the same problem I did with Debian and do with GPartEd, I'm stuck at 800x600. I figured I would go ahead and install it after booting the live version and then work out the resolution problem, but I got some weird error message I didn't write down, it didn't boot after the install routine. On the plus side, I was able to configure my wireless card, have not been able to do that with Debian. I'm starting to wonder why I bother even trying any other distros outside of Puppy.
It's strange that distros as large as Debian and Mint wouldn't recognize my video setup, and Puppy happily gives me any resolution I want. I mean large as in the size of the ISO- it would seem there would be room to have my setup covered. I don't know, so I guess I'm asking: is that because Puppy just asks you what resolution to use and then gives it to you and Debian tries to detect it and fails?

I have to say that puppy is one of my favorites but I run a lot of stuff including True64, AIX, HP/UX, Solaris, OpenSolaris, OSX, Vista, Win7 and of course Ubuntu.
What I really like about Puppy is that it allows me to continue to get use out of my aged army of laptops and test machines and I can keep my kids on their toes when I rotate test machines for them to use around the house.
What I really like about Puppy is that it works very well as a virtual machine in xVM.
Cheers,
Eunix

OK,..
I have to update my earlier post. I stated that Puppy was my "Swiss-Army-Knife" distro. That's true,..but I just slapped it (dual-booted with Debian) on my main computer. Got tired of that other distro (dual-booted with Debian) I had on there with all it's little quirks that were always showing up at the worst moments. With Puppy, I can get all things working just fine. So I wondered why was I trying to bother with that other distro, anyhow? Life's too short for all that fiddling and configuring. Just gimme Puppy.
..so my favorites would have to be 50-50 split:
Puppy & Debian (yeah,..I know,.......I really HAVE to try dpup).
