I just thought it would be appropriate to include a link into this thread. At 1st blush, I don't think the acpi is working with the fan correctly.

1.
In /root/Startup, change 'acpi' to not-executable (right click on it and choose Properties).
2.
In /etc/init.d, change 'rc.acpi' to not-executable.
3.
Reboot.
