Lucid Puppy 5.1.1 Release - This is the official release
More fun with the network_tray icon...
I have hacked Barry's source once again to now provide for different icon themes in for network_tray icon (formerly Blinky)
There are 4 themes you can choose
standard
puppy
business
ttuuxxx (he was the original creator of this style)
____________________________________________________
You change the theme with a right click on the tray icon.
A gui then opens and you just click your choice then a splash screen opens prompting you to restart X to see your changes. (might change that bit yet )
Enjoy!
Cheers
V244 update
Now no need to restart X, also not hard coded so you can add your own themes, as many as you want (within reason )

PuppyBrowser has stopped working.
I've installed the Icewm themes,WhoDo's collection and Midori.......now no go with PuppyBrowser.Won't display /usr/share/doc/home and won't connect to anything on the internet,
Going to uninstall Midori and reboot again.

Lucid Puppy 5.1.1 Testing and Development
I installed 518 to a 4gb flash drive using bootflash and booted my Eeepc 701 with it.
I installed the intel driver and restarted x, then downloaded firefox.
The 701 has a 19“ lcd monitor connected to it so I chose 1280x1024 resolution in xorgwizard.
Firefox wouldn’t go full screen on the 19“ monitor in jwm but it would in icewm.
I created a hardinfo report and saved it to the root directory but clicking on the file to load it brought up puppybrowser and an empty page, I had to load the report with firefox.

Went ahead and uninstalled Firefox, leaving only PuppyBrowser, and it's working again. Apparently there is some kind of conflict with Firefox? Using PuppyBrowser to post this.James C wrote:Uninstalled Midori and rebooted. PuppyBrowser is still not working.
For some good news, installed the icon pet while in JWM...it works. Went to Icewm, still works.Rebooted, still works.
Going to try Opera and see what happens.
Side note: Heard a good mention about Lucid Puppy 510 on the Linux Outlaws podcast this week.

I did an update and got the same (as well as no connection)If you try to go to Lucid Puppy News from Quickpet you see.......
I had lost my JWM config etc
OK might as well do a fresh install - so I did . . .
Worked OK and new 'blinky' icons working OK
'Gtkhash' in menu / Utilities / General utilities
has no menu icon
I vaguely remember this from the past. I think mozstart was to blame.James C wrote:Downloaded Opera.........PuppyBrowser still works.Looks like a conflict with Firefox. Also, as long as X is restarted when changing the wm the new icons are persistent.
I'm going to get some sleep.....................

218 initial report.
Hmmm... I got the same issue when I woofed up a lucy yesterday.. the old delayedrun file, I'll attach the new one. I wonder why woof didn't find it??? Legacy pet? I might do a woof from scratch, redownload the lot.. er .. tomorrow!
I have a couple of tweaks for you James C when you awaken There is a new jwmx2 file I made. Also /root/Startup/z-start-icetrayapps needs to be deleted.. will do it.
hmmm... error with puppybrowserConsequently, 'Help' icon on desktop is broken. I suspect the other issues with Puppybrowser will be fixed with a new /libgtkembedmoz.so. (looks like an Ubuntu bug,, re "_ZN18nsObsoleteACString16sCanonical"..bla, bla)
I always test "man" straight off the bat.. 'man rpl' is first (it's local), then 'man mplayer', (it's remote).
The jwmx2 fix will also contain a new file for the ice 'Quick Launch', that will fix 'refresh tray icons'. I will rebuild Ice package tomorrow and upload.
Can we do this in a week?
Cheers

will do when i download early tomorrowplaydayz wrote:http://distro.ibiblio.org/pub/linux/dis ... d-officialI made a typo on the hp drivers--That is fixed but you will need to download the Packages-puppy-lucid-official from the link above and put it into /root/.packages.hpijs-3.10.x-dynppd has been updated to release ..6 but trying to download via ppm fails
both are bad!playdayz wrote: Do you mean the browser problem that is worse when the browser window extends below the screen?
Can't do it while in config mode, and it resets to the max matrix (1600x1200) every time you use this combination.playdayz wrote:The area containing instructions and menu items, suspect it's still at 640x480 while the screen is still set at the maximum size. Suspect X hasn't released properly if at all.
What happens if you Menu -> Shutdown -> Restart X server. It might also help to use Icewm which handles a screen resize better than jwm.
same problems I had in 5.1playdayz wrote: What happens if you go ahead and run Classic Config Experience (xorgwizard) to set the video?
will download early tomorrow and give it a goplaydayz wrote: ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Puppy Browser Patch..
Just install the pet, will fix if Seamonkey 2 is installed, I'll check firefox in a mo, oh yeah I didn't forget Cups and Bareview . Help now works,
Don't know how the fix the certificate error but I suspect SM-1X would need a run. I bet we had that error in Puppy 5 too, just no one picked it up..
Cheers
EDIT: uninstalled Seamonkey2 and installed Firefox... PuppyBrowser set up my printer in a jiffy with this patch
