How to edit Xorg.conf?

#1 Post by LinuxFan2010 »

My touchpad is behaving rather strangely, so that I see myself in the need to deactivate it. However, I seem to lack the proper tool. I know gedit supports the (dot)conf format. However, gedit seems to be limited to the Gnome environment. Is there anything like gedit working with the (dot)conf format?

I navigate to /etc/X11 and edit xorg.conf using Geany.
Be sure to make a backup of the file just in case of problems.

Thanks.

Figured it out now.

I was always looking into usr/bin/X11/Xorg.
Never realized there really was a /etc.

Nothing to see here. Just an Amiga OS fanboy figuring out the Unix file system.

Another way is:
Menu>Setup>Xorg Video Wizard - Edit Xorg.config
