Hi.
here in Germany, again, the SoftMaker in Nuernberg gives to all FREE licences of its Office-Package Softmaker 2008:

# SoftMaker Presentations 2008, an alternative to Microsoft PowerPoint
# BasicMaker 2008 (Windows only), a BASIC scripting language
# Unrestricted software, can be used perpetually
# Seamless compatibility with Microsoft Office
For every successful download SoftMaker donates € 0.10 to well-chosen development and charity projects on betterplace.org.
Licence ist able to be updated.

For me, it's running under Puppy a long time. Copy the directory /office2008 unter /opt, link to desktop an go on, or make a pet or create a sfs... SoftMaker Office is compiled static, running under Puppy ist easy...

Markus
getting SoftMaker Office 2008 FREE until December 31
Hi,
Excellent news. I have been using the English version of the 2008 (click to install on Puppy) suite since last December.
The writer element (of an older free version) has long been recommended by BarryK and all three elements load instantaneously on my box.
The Windows version is also free until the end of the year.
My regards

I have a question about the Softmaker License Key. How does it work? Can you just install the Softmaker suite anywhere you want, as many times as you want? Make Pets or SFS from it and use those without restriction and without built-in time bomb?
In the past, I've had very bad experiences with (expensive windows) programs that came with a license key. I know Softmaker is great, but the licensing makes me hesitant.
(and it's not open source yet )

I am slightly confused, are you offering a free license or a free download?mave wrote:here in Germany, again, the SoftMaker in Nuernberg gives to all FREE licences of its Office-Package Softmaker 2008:
