Lucid 5.20 and Bluetooth?

#1 Post by fanfare »

Bluetooth is wireless after all, right?

Is there a comprehensive instruction on how to get Lucid to work with my bluetooth dongle to connect to the Internet via my phone?

I don't even know how to pair my devices.

First you need to install Bluez and associated packages from here -

I'm not sure that the bluez-gnome gui supports this, but if not, I provided manual setup instructions here -

refer to section 1) "Dial-up Networking Gateway"

OK, I followed the first set of instructions from:

http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic.php?t=52973

but libxcb-1.0.pet would not install. Also, when I rebooted my X-Windows were just frozen black with only my cursor showing, but nothing else on my desktop, not even the task bar.

I tried a fresh install on a brand-new puppy and left libxcb-1.0.pet out. That time it rebooted properly, but of course, I don't have libxcb-1.0.pet installed. But at least I know it was libxcb-1.0.pet that was causing my puppy to hang after bootup when the windows are supposed to display.

I am using Lucid Puppy 5.20.

Any ideas?

Thanks,
