I have to use a hack to keep thunar from giving a warning message so I hope they don't start stopping people from using it as root that will be a real bummer

Hi-
Anyone here get icon for google-chrome 11 working? I have google-chrome 11 running as spot:
defaultbrowser:
su - spot -c "DISPLAY=:0.0 PATH=/bin:/usr/bin:/sbin:/usr/sbin:/usr/local/bin:/usr/X11R7/bin:/opt/google/chrome/ google-chrome %U $@"
But for the life of me i can't get the icon to show up in the taskbar. Any other app i've tried, like su - spot -c "DISPLAY=:0.0 xchat" the icon shows up fine.
SO FRUSTRATING!
There are a bunch of tricks i've used to get various little breakages here and there to work. I'll try to get them all together if anyone is interested. I just discovered this thread, and i'm glad it's here

Hi lithpr
I am in the middle of getting MyWolfe-030 built and have not had time to look into spot as of yet but you may want to download my google-libs and look at the files in it and make some tweaks to it. Then if you get it working I can host it on my server at souceforge and let everybody get it.

Pam & 12 & windows media files
Yes and Good Day , I have installed stable Debian Chrome 12.0.742.91 to Quirky-130. I had GrumpyWolfes 10-libs already installed but console informs me that libpam.so.0 is missing. So, I installed libpam0g_1.1.1-4ubuntu2.3_i386.deb from http://pkgs.org/download/ubuntu-10.10/u ... 6.deb.html.
Pam is here and Chrome 12x runs now. At start Chrome informs that "Google Chrome is no longer updating because your operating system is obsolete. Yes, it is Big Quirky but maybe Pam is helpful for Wary and Lupu users too.
About:plugins informs me that Chrome has all Gecko Media Player plugins switched on. This is new: Windows media files are now playable on Chrome window. I have tested some wmv streams.
Is this lack of version information dangerous? That is, console has still something to say about libz.so.1:
#google-chrome
/usr/bin/google-chrome: /lib/libz.so.1: no version information available (required by /usr/bin/google-chrome)
