I know my hardware works, but I'm unable to get my sound to function correctly. After running alsawizard and selecting CA0106, I was getting only static. I've used retrovol and alsamixer to try and determine the issue. The weird part is that when I turn master volume and analog front to 100% the static nearly subsides and get a whisper out of youtube videos.
By the way, ticking the box for IEC958, in retrovol, stops the static but produces no sound.
Any advice leading to a solution is greatly appreciated.

I am intrigued by your usage of the word 'static'

Why not use the more well known term white noise?N00bx1000 wrote:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Whitenoisesound.oggI am intrigued by your usage of the word 'static'
