Well, this is experimental testing phase, and Iguleders builds probably will stay under it.

I dont have traditionally much boundaries of my puplets size.

So, I will build this now and lets see......
Guess what? Squeeze 5.0.0.4 loaded into ram on the old P3 test box with 256 mb ram.........running it now pfix=ram with the cd removed.

Anyway, everything working on boot. More testing later.

Quick post before going to the work. Xdelta package wasnt processed. I didnt take a look what went wrong. I just repackaged it and now woof processes it. It might be that it missed specs file, seen that before.

Anyway xdelta file difference manager aka xdelta gui does not work. It needs that xdelta package. Will be in the next version.

Today after work I will spend time to make Ati Catalyst 11.7 pet and test it. Possibly with and without CCC.

Also I will try to learn something about e17.

Been thinking about the naming convention. I wont expand my cold puppies to the debian based. I leave them to the Ubuntu Lucid saga.

Now, I want the name reflect debian, squeeze and that what core specs I am using.

What I came from these, I got Dpup Exprimo 5X or maybe Exprimo Pup 5X

First brainstorming result. Nothing decided yet.

Dave S. I think the reason is changed kernel information location from /proc to /sys.
Somebody could update hardinfo to reflect newer kernels. I dont have the ability to do that.
Gatotray, CpuTemp, my conky and Xsensors with lmsensors can read 2.6.39.3 cpu temp correctly.

If people are lazy to hunt those above application pets and packages, I can post them here. Give feedback.

My older post 2.6.38 kernel time and my findings about core temp readings. Still relevant I think.

Possible Rox bug - this is happening for me on both pemasu build and my own.

Go to rox-filer options > thumbnails > and enable 'show image thumbnails'

Then open a new rox file manager window and try to open /proc directory - for me it hangs during loading and i have to restart x.

edit:
rolled back to older version of rox for lucid puppy seems to fix this problem for me.

Rox-Filer bug sounds bad. I think Iguleder has compiled it. If so, that bug needs to be reposted to the Iguleders Squeeze thread. I will test it when I get home.
Thank you stu90.

Peebee. Good to know that pnethood works now. And thank you of finding that problem. Lets see how well Clarf`s version works. This was first time that I have used it in my builds.

James C. Astonishing that it still loads to the 256 Mb RAM.
Fotoxx now syncs files when you open from menu file syncing. If you sync whatever folder, it wont ask that question anymore. And now there is recent exiftool included.

System reports for 5004 on a 4GB desktiop

#177 Post by gcmartin »

@Pemasu. This seems to be another great effort from you.

It boots find and runs find. I did notice the lack of PAE on all of the PCs that have 4GB+ memory for filesystem use.

Attached is a report from an OTB Live media DPUP5004 that may be helpful.

Hope this helps

Booted live cd pfix=ram
Used gparted to create an ext4 partition on 4 gb flash drive and set the
boot flag.
Used Puppy universal installer to install to the flash drive.
Installed grub4dos-0.4.4.v1.7.pet.
Ran grub4dos and had it search the flash drive only and installed it
to the flash drive.
Copied devx + kernel source sfs + ati-driver-installer-11-7-x86.x86_64.run
to the flash drive.
Rebooted creating a save file on the flash drive.
Rebooted again increasing size of save file.
Installed ati driver and switched to jwm because e17 dosen't show the
save icon on the desktop.
Forgot to install xorg_high so no glxgears :(

Hi DaveS,
when you click to download a .pet in the ppm have you selected Iguleder's server (second down) to download from?
